My acceptance speech

I always like imagine the acceptance speech I would make if I ever won a big award, like an Oscar, or possibly a blog award!

(Shocked face).....there are honestly no words to describe how I feel right now! I want to thank the Academy, or Jamie at Jamie Unscripted and Jennifer at Dave and Jennifer Holland, for everything! I couldn't have done it without your support and being two of the five people who read my blog regularly. I feel like I owe a lot to my roots and where I grew up (Mena shout out)!

(Que tears) You have no idea how this award will change my life, how much it means to me. It makes all the hard work, blogging, seem worth it! So thank you, thank you for thinking of me. Thank you for the Sunshine Award! As all things good in life, you should pass them on......and so I will.

What brings you joy lately? For me it's that this weekend is Daylight Savings. Massive amounts of sunshine here I come!

My best friends

She is one of my best friends. We grew up together, went to the same college, and magically ended up with many of the same friends.


This is Rachel.

She is my other best friend! Although we didn't grow up together I feel like we did sometimes. We went to the same college and also have many of the same friends (including a best friend, Jamie)!


God must really love me because he gave me two wonderful people to be my best friends! They are both kind, smart, funny, and all around just amazing. I miss them so much everyday but I'm thankful for their continued close friendship and support! They will always be such a big part of my life and I wanted to take this time to make sure they knew, as well as the whole world! I miss you both oh so much and love you with all the love I can give! Thanks for being such great friends!


I can only hope you have such great friends in your life too.....which I'm sure you all do. So make sure to tell them how great they are!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

No it's really not, but as always....I eagerly look forward to spring when it's winter and summer when it's spring, and so on and so forth! Sorry for that random thought. I have had a busy weekend and the weekends just keep getting busier!

This weekend Jake and I found a house to rent in NOLA! Wooohoooo! I love it and just as soon as we move in I will make sure to post pictures!

On Thursday I get to go to Fayetteville for my friend Rachel's bridal shower! Then on Friday we have a bridesmaid luncheon, Saturday the rehearsal dinner and on Sunday......dant dant da daaaaaaaaa THE WEDDING! I've already informed Rachel I will cry like a baby, thank you cosmetic industry for waterproof mascara!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Oh, my wonderful friend Jamie apparently thinks I'm awesome and so I she gave me an Awe-summmm award. I will be fulfilling my requirements for that soon! Thanks Jamie, I think you're awesome too!

Hello world! I have a treat for you. My friend Donnally started her own blog and was kind enough to share it with me and I love it and think that as she blogs more you will really appreciate her sense of humor and the wonders of spending her day with 8 and 9 year olds. Yesterday was a very hard day for me at work. I don't say that very often so that means something. And today will be hard too. My boss will finally be back from her work trip and I will have to tell her when my last day will be. This was my first post college job, so I'm very thankful for her and all she did for me. Now I have more things for you to check out.

Pandora is one of the greatest inventions EVER invented!!! I mean it's great. It's a free service where you can go and make your own radio stations! I have a Garth Brooks station as well as a Reba,  cause I need my country fix. I also have a boys II men and Britney Spears. I love it. You can pick a station based on a particular singer or a song and you can add variety. I also have holiday stations so I can always listen to Christmas music ANY time of year!!!!! My friend Jamie will vouch for me. She also loves it and she her blog is uber fun so hop on over and check her out! Jamie's blog.

An update on the move. Jake is still waiting for his official start date, which we anticipate to be in May. I will not be going down til June. I'm very excited still, but I haven't cried yet, which only means one thing. I will cry like a baby on the day I get in my car to leave this great state I call home! I really will. I love it and honestly I know that change is good (most the time) and that it must happen to evolve as a person, but I'm a very nostalgic person and I am always sad to see things change, no matter how good the change is. Most people were excited about college, I cried my eyes out while I packed my room up. I moved 2 and 1/2 hours away from some of my closest friends to a place ( from Fayetteville to Little Rock) where I had my two very best friends, my sister and Jake. Yet I cried like I was never going to see these people again. Who knows why God made me this way, but I will cry if I see someone else crying. It's the strangest thing! So.....I'll be sure to let you know of the exact day I'm leaving so I can get some thoughts thrown my way since I'll need them. I hope you are all having a wonderful day.  

By the way, why does spell check not recognize the word blog? That's strange.

Happy Birthday Rachel Starr!!!

Today is my great friend Rachel's birthday! Her and Jamie share the same birthday month, which is fun!!!! Rachel's future husband and my boyfriend also share the same birthday month. Rachel has a wedding coming up in May that I am fortunate enough to be a part of. I've said it before but I'll say it again. One of the hardest things in my life currently has been having to be away from some of my closest friends. Yes, I do have close friends in Little Rock, but that doesn't mean I don't miss the ones who live in Fayetteville. I am blessed with wonderful people in my life from my family and friends to the people I work with. Rachel is one of those blessings and I want to wish her the BEST birthday EVER! I can't wait to get to be a part of all the wonderful things that are happening in your life.

Happy Birthday Jamie Gray!!!

One of the hardest things for me in my life right now is being away from some of my closest friends (you know who you are). Although I have some of my close friends here with me in Little Rock, I have to admit I enjoyed it more when we were all together in one town! But that's just a part of life.

So since I can't be with Jamie on her birthday I will make her a birthday blog. (I stole the idea to add a card to my blog from my very dear and creative friend Rachel at Four Legs Photography, you need to check out her site, she does wonderful work!)

Here's to you Jamie, and to lower car insurance, getting married, and enjoying being halfway to 50! Love you so much and I know you will have the best day EVER!!!

I have GREAT friends!!

Okay so since I didn't (note the past tense) blog enough, I have a lot of catching up to do. So I will make this blog about how great my friends are......ALL of them!! I thank God often for loving me so much and surrounding me with such great people. People you love me, laugh with me, lift me up when I am down, and are always there for me. So thank you, in case I don't say it enough.

Speaking of great friends, my friends Jamie and Rachel threw me a graduation party and following are some of those pictures:

And of course I must post some more pictures of the baby. He had kennel cough and we were very worried about him because he looked like he had lost weight. Apparently we were wrong, the little guy has gained 2.5 pounds in only 6 days. Talk about a chubby monkey (I often call him this). He is acting like he feels much better and we had a very good visit with Dr. Winters today! So here is the chubby moneky:

Well life has for the most part been uneventful. I am struggling staying motivated, but picked up a few sparks from my long time friend Sam who has been able to make great changes with her life! Keep it up Sam! Jake and I will be attending our good friends wedding this weekend in Pine Bluff. It'll be my first time to go to Pine Bluff I heard it smells bad because of the paper mill. Which means it smells like Ashdown........which to me smells like brussel sprouts!

I am also lending a hand to my friend Patrick Wright to help him stuff goodie bags today after work. I believe in karma so when your friends are in need why not help if you can?! Karma is also a reason why I try to participate in surveys, that and I feel like it will end up benefiting more people if the company/product knows what's wrong or what people are looking for!

I might have some exciting news coming up.....but you'll have to wait til Halloween to find out. Not too much further!

OH!!! And I would like to wish Dr. Roark a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you're having the best day ever!
